Enfield Tool Library – Palmers Green

We are a very young tool lending library.
With our experience from setting up and running the very successful Walthamstow Tool Library, we are sure this will be every bit as fantastic or even better. For this to happen we need as many people to support us by become members and donating tools. Please see our wish list and get in contact if you'd like to know more.

Come and meet us in Palmers Green Library

Donate your tools:

Free up space in your home and support your community by donating tools. Email pgtools@frpuk.org to arrange your donation. We accept donations of good quality tools in working order- great if you can send us a picture of them. We are particularly after battery powered DIY tools including drill drivers, sanders and jigsaws as these are super popular.

Our wish list:

  • Cordless drills
  • Sanders – Any type is welcome! Whether belt, orbital, mouse, finishing, or detail, if it’s in working condition, we’d love to have it.
  • Battery-powered tools – all cordless tools – drills- soft and hard impact sds and hammer,  jigsaws, plunge saw, angle grinders, multytool, reciprocating saws, LED work light etc.
  • Battery-powered gardening tools – To support our environmental goals, we’re moving away from petrol-powered tools. Battery-powered alternatives are much appreciated. Hedge trimmer, strimmers, pole saws etc
  •  Wolf Garten range of garden tools. ZMV4 Telescopic pole,  OYM3 Saw, RCM anvil lopper, GCM gutter cleaning, RGM fruit picker.
  • 230v corded tools- all of the above and more in corded versions
  • Stud finders – Like steamers, these are not always built to last but are in high demand.
  • Distance measurer – it’s a very useful tool especially for flat refurbishment.
  • Hole Saw kits – masonry wood or multi material
  • Carpet cleaners with upholstery attachments
  • Pressure washers – These are extremely useful and in high demand. If you have a spare, we’d love to take it.
  • Wallpaper steamers – We can always use more, as the heating elements tend to burn out quickly.
  • Any tool kits– chisel sets, bike maintenance, carpentry sets, screwdriver sets , wrenches, torx key, etc
  • Workshop equipment – We run a carpentry workshop on Bakers Avenue with various machinery. If you have professional-grade tools or equipment like table saws, band saws, or chop saws that could enhance our setup, please get in touch.

Volunteer with us!

Become a volunteer for the Enfield Tool Library and help us build a sharing community.  Volunteers will support the project as part of a team which:

  • collects tool donations and add them to the inventory
  • hands out and receives tools that are borrowed
  • carries out regular maintenance on the tools
  • helps promote the tool library
  • maintains our admin systems

Why volunteer?

  • Support your community: help your neighbours access the tools they need without the expense of buying them
  • Promote sustainability: reduce waste and encourage a circular economy
  • Gain new skills: learn about tool maintenance and database management

Sign up to become a volunteer: we are looking for volunteers to get hands-on with the tools and give a few hours each week or month (whatever your availability) to help staff the Tool Library. If you are interested in becoming an Enfield Tool Library volunteer please email pgtools@frpuk.org and tell us a bit about yourself.
