Reclaiming Paint

Of the 320 million litres of paint sold in the UK each year an estimated 50 million litres - enough to fill 20 Olympic-sized swimming pools - goes to waste. Reclaimed paint is both an environmentally friendly and cost-effective way to decorate and truly has the ability to transform your space.

Who can buy our paint? Everyone!

Our reclaimed paint is available for everyone to purchase. It’s a very affordable and greener alternative to buying brand new paint from DIY supermarkets. Our paint comes in all types and colours and we source it from recycling centres in Waltham Forest and beyond.

Visit our warehouse in Leytonstone or our shop in Walthamstow to find paint for your next project. Prices range between £1 and £3 per litre and in our warehouse we also have a bigger selection of discounted £1 paint and even a changing selection of paint to take home for free.

You don’t need to book or have any special vouchers to come and buy our paint. We have deals for certain groups (PAINT FOR LESS and PAINT FOR HOUSING TENANTS) but anyone can use our outlets like regular shops.

Why we reclaim paint

Environmental Benefit

Reclaiming paint stops perfectly good materials from reaching landfill and reduces the amount of CO₂ emissions emitted, reduces pollution, and conserves natural resources such as water by decreasing the demand to create new paint.

Community Benefit

Reclaiming paint enables local residents and community groups to improve their living and working spaces in a cost-effective way, promoting a higher sense of well-being and richer engagement with the space. We are proud to be a member of the Community RePaint network, which enables the reclaiming of paint nationwide.

How We Reclaim Paint

1

Step One - Leftover paint is Donated to local Council Recycling Sites

Local residents donate their reusable paint to nearby household recycling sites where we then collect it from. Occasionally, we also receive direct donations from businesses.
2

Step Two - Paint is quality checked

Once collected the paint is brought back to our processing warehouse, where it is sorted, quality checked and remixed if needs be by a small team of volunteers and staff.
3

Step Three - A better retail offer

The paint is then sold as a sustainable, low-cost alternative to new paint via our paint shop in Walthamstow and paint warehouse in Leytonstone. Both paint sites operate like a standard retail shop so are open to the general public to purchase paint, no appointment needed. You can shop from both our paint shop in Walthamstow and paint warehouse in Leytonstone.
WE’RE UNABLE TO ACCEPT PAINT DONATIONS DIRECTLY. If you have leftover paint that is good to use, consider using it or giving it to a friend. If you can't, take it to your local recycling centre.
