Forest Recycling Project are delighted to have been creating a Waltham Forest Directory of Reuse and Repair Services, in partnership with Waltham Forest Council.

The directory will enable local people to find and use local services that offer high quality goods that are preloved, reclaimed and second-hand, to borrow instead of buy, and to repair things they own, so that together we can divert much more from waste.  We know that there are a lot of fantastic organisations and businesses doing this work in the borough, but that people don’t necessarily know where to find them.

Reducing what we unnecessarily buy new, where we can, is going to be a key part of our community achieving climate net zero.  It can also save everyone a lot of money, and help local organisations and businesses doing this work to thrive.

You can buy reclaimed paint, scaffolding boards, textiles and handmade gifts from Forest Recycling Project, join our Walthamstow Tool Library, and get involved in our work as a volunteer.  You can find out more information on FRP’s website, facebook and instagram.

Waltham Forest Council have launched an online directory and map with the data as of 7 March 2024, and we are collaborating with them with the aim of promoting it and campaigning within the community in 2024.  There will also be some fantastic events around reuse and repair coming up, the first one having taken place at George Mitchell School on 9 March.  Follow us for more information when it is ready.
