In the tool library our goal is to extend the life of tools. We look for a solution, repair and sharpen. Out of passion of our volunteers, WTL offers you sharpening service for tools and knives. So you can keep them in good condition, and use them for longer. You help to reduce waste and support us at the same time.
We sharpen all kinds of kitchen knives, including serrated knives.
We provide a tool sharpening service for both members & non-members.
Members can book sharpening by website: Walthamstow Tool Library and Enfield Tool Library.
Non-members can book by sending an email to tools@frpuk.org (WTL) or pgtools@frpuk.org (ETL).
We’re aiming to sharpen your items within a week, if we need more time, we will notify you. Upon inspection tools that need maintenance may accrue an additional charge, e.g. de-rusting, tightening, changing parts. Let us know beforehand what tools you are bringing. Please be aware that we are not able to sharpen saws at this point!
The person who is responsible for sharpening has a lot of experience and expertise. They will choose the best way to sharpen your items. For knives we use wet and dry stones, files and a professional sharpening machine.
