📢 There are so many ways people and companies c 📢 There are so many ways people and companies can support charities like us – Forest Recycling Project.
Whether it’s by spreading the word that FRP sells reclaimed paint, textiles and wood; buying from us, borrowing tools from our Tool Library, volunteering your time, or donating money or materials – every act of support helps us keep valuable resources in use and out of landfill.
💛 One brilliant example of this support comes from Beardwell Construction Ltd, who recently donated high-quality new tools to the @Walthamstow Tool Library – a project run by FRP. Thanks to their generosity, all our Tool Library members can now enjoy access to a wider range of great tools, making DIY, repair and building more accessible and sustainable for our community.
Beardwell Construction said it best:
“At Beardwell Construction Ltd., we believe in the future of our industry. As part of our project at Willowfield School, we are proud to support the London Borough of Waltham Forest in developing opportunities for tradespeople.(...)Starting out in the industry can be challenging, and having the right tools can make all the difference.”
Their donation helps remove barriers for people starting out in trades, while also reducing waste and promoting reuse. As they put it:
“Having the right tools can make all the difference. By giving back in this way, we hope to empower trades with the resources they need to build confidence and expertise.”
📸 In the first photo you’ll see Maria, our Tool Library Coordinator and the person on the ground at WTL, alongside Greg, FRP’s Green Champions Project Coordinator and Carpentry Mentor.
📸 In the second photo, you’ll spot Greg with Glen Smith from Beardwell Construction, who played a key role in coordinating and delivering this generous donation. A huge thank you to Glen for his help – and one more time to the whole team at Beardwell Construction Limited for this wonderful contribution to our community!

💚 LAST CHANCE to Double Your Impact – Ends Mi 💚 LAST CHANCE to Double Your Impact – Ends Midday Today! 💚
We’re almost at the finish line – and we need your help one last time!
Our special Big Give campaign wraps up at midday TODAY (April 29th), so there’s still a little time left to make a donation that goes twice as far.
A £1 donation becomes £2.
A £20 donation becomes £40.
And it’s all thanks to our amazing matching funders! 🙌
❗️This is your final opportunity to support FRP through this match campaign.
💚 What are we fundraising for?
At FRP, we fight waste by giving unwanted materials – like paint, textiles, and timber – a second life. Every donation helps us reclaim, refresh, and redistribute items that would otherwise go to landfill, supporting both the environment and our local community.
❤️ Why it matters?
Your donations keep our doors open, help people save money, and give vital resources to those who need them most.
Just £1 can make a difference – especially when it’s doubled!
👉 Visit our website or BIO and click the DONATE button to make your matched donation before midday today!
Thank you for standing with us – let’s finish strong and keep creating a greener, fairer future for everyone! 💚

💚 Help Us Make a Bigger Impact! Double Your Donation This Week 💚
We’re reaching out to you, our amazing community, for your support.
As you know, FRP is both a charity and a social enterprise, and donations are at the heart of everything we do. Thanks to incredible platforms like BIG GIVE, every donation made this week will be doubled, meaning your contribution will go twice as far!
A £1 donation becomes £2.
A £20 donation becomes £40.
And it’s all thanks to the generosity of our matching funders! 🙌
❗️But hurry – this special campaign is only running from midday on April 22nd to midday on April 29th!
💚What are we campaigning for?
At FRP, our mission is to reduce waste and help protect the environment through reuse, reclaim, and repair initiatives. We work with our local community to repurpose unwanted materials, and we’re especially focused on unwanted paint – a toxic waste when discarded.
Instead of letting it sit in landfills or get incinerated, we rescue paint and give it new life! Through quality checks, mixing, and refreshing, we turn this paint into affordable, eco-friendly options for everyone. This not only helps the planet but also supports families and individuals by making home improvements more affordable.
Our efforts don’t stop at paint—we also reclaim textiles and timber, working towards a more sustainable and affordable future for all.
❤️Why your donation matters?
Most of our funds go directly into running our operations and maintaining these vital programs. With your help, we can continue to “rescue” paint, save people money, and provide access to affordable home improvement materials for those who need it most.
🫶How can you help?
Please consider donating just a pound or two if you can. Every little bit helps us keep our doors open and continue making a difference. Simply visit our website and click the DONATE button at the top of the page. You’ll be directed to the Big Give page, where your donation will be doubled at no extra cost to you! 🎉
We’re so grateful for your support – together, we can create a better, greener, and more affordable future for all. Thank you! 💚

🌈✨ Looking for a quick and fun way to refresh 🌈✨ Looking for a quick and fun way to refresh your space? We've got the perfect idea for you!
Our amazing colleague, Yanire, recently gave all our wooden chairs a makeover with different pops of colour – and the best part? It’s a simple project that makes a huge impact! 🎨✨
Here’s what you’ll need: a little free time, paint (available in our warehouse or shop), a brush or roller, and, of course, some great tunes to keep you in the zone. If you’re in the mood for a mindful moment, treat it like a mini meditation—focusing on each brushstroke and the new colours filling the space. 🖌️💫
This idea works wonders if you have a bold accent colour in your kitchen or dining room. Just one or two chairs in a contrasting colour can totally transform the vibe!
❓️So, what do you think? Would you try this fun, quick project at home? What colours would you choose to brighten up your space? It’s spring—let your creativity runs wild! 🌷
Don’t forget, we’re here for all your paint and DIY needs at two locations:

🌍♻️ 30 March - International Zero Waste Day 🌍♻️ 30 March - International Zero Waste Day: Small Actions, Big Impact! ♻️🌍
Zero Waste Day is a powerful reminder that every choice we make can help protect our planet. At FRP, we’re all about giving materials a second life—because waste is just a resource in the wrong place!
🌿 Reclaimed Materials, Renewed Purpose
Of the 320m litres of paint sold in the UK each year, an estimated 50m litres—enough to fill 20 Olympic-sized swimming pools—goes to waste. Reclaimed paint is both an environmentally friendly and cost-effective way to decorate and truly has the ability to transform your space. We sell reclaimed paint, saving thousands of litres from landfill while offering affordable, good-quality colour for your projects. You help us reuse almost half a million litres of that paint!
The UK construction industry generates around 4.5m tonnes of waste wood annually. We’ve made many shelves and planters for you. You’ve taken the scaffolding boards for your raised beds, and thanks to all of you, FRP has reclaimed 36,800kg of timber. Not bad!
It's estimated that of the 400 billion m² of fabric made every year, 60 billion m² ends up on the cutting room floor. When disposed of in landfill or by incineration, dyes and chemicals in fabric can leach into the soil, contaminating both surface and groundwater, as well as the atmosphere. We offer reclaimed textiles, supporting creative reuse and reducing fabric waste. Together, you’ve helped us reclaim almost 3,500km of fabric, and this number is changing with every month.
🔧 Borrow, Don’t Buy!
Some of you might know that Walthamstow Tool Library is part of FRP. Through our WTL, you can borrow power tools, hand tools, and garden equipment—saving money, space, and the environment. With an annual fee, you can take up to 5 tools every single week. Join over 550 members who are saving money and enjoying gardening and DIY. This is our 4th year, and we’ve already passed 10,000 tool loans!
