Curious about our Green Champions programmes? Come along to our Open Morning!
Every month, we welcome people interested in our programmes, including our carpentry programme Championing Biodiversity and our mending and upcycling programme Patch & Repurpose – Next Stitch.
Our Open Morning is a chance to:
✨ Find out more about our programmes and how they work
🛠️ Visit our workshop and see where the sessions take place
♿ Learn about accessibility and access to the venue
💬 Ask questions and meet our mentors, Penny and Greg
🤝 Find out about volunteering and other ways to get involved with FRP
Whether you're a referral partner, thinking about volunteering, or simply curious about what we do, we'd love to meet you!

Tina recently stopped by and picked up a mix of our free fabric scraps and a few vintage fabric cuts to create this gorgeous bunting for her baby shower. 🎀✨
Here’s what Tina had to say:

I’m planning to keep them for every future special occasion, they added such a beautiful pop of colour and joy to the party. Had a lot of compliments.”

We recently needed a few washers and hooks for a chain barrier across the stairs at our warehouse, so rather than looking further afield, we popped to our local hardware shop, **W.P. Wakefield in Leyton**.
Wakefield is a **family-run local business**, and we love supporting businesses in our community whenever we can. Shopping locally helps us support the local economy, build connections and keep our spending closer to home. 💚
But there was another little detail we loved… 👀
Our purchases were wrapped in **old newspapers**! 📰
Wakefield have been reusing old newspaper to wrap their products since they first opened, giving something that might otherwise be thrown away another use.
As an environmental charity, **reuse is at the heart of what we do at FRP**, so we were delighted to see this simple, practical example of reuse happening right on our doorstep.
It might just be a few washers and hooks, but we think these small choices add up.

We have a great selection of reclaimed garden and fence paints in different colours and finishes — giving perfectly good paint a second life while saving you money.
🛠️ BORROW YOUR FENCE-BUILDING TOOLS
Need a post-hole digger, post rammer, drill, saw or other tools for your project? Borrow instead of buying something you might only use once!
💚 JOIN THE WALTHAMSTOW TOOL LIBRARY
Membership gives you access to a whole collection of tools for DIY, repairs, gardening and home projects.
Instead of spending money on tools that will sit in the shed, borrow what you need, use it, and return it for someone else to use.
