Adults of all ages and skill levels.
Anyone feeling isolated, between jobs, or seeking community
Those with sewing experience (we can adapt the programme to suit your goals!) or no experience at all!

We sold more fabric than ever this year! With Anita’s help, we sourced stunning pieces from shops, homes, and even designers. You loved them, and we loved seeing them find new homes.
✨Beautiful Wood Creations
Planters, tabletops, shelves—you kept us busy. Huge thanks to our talented team for all the sanding hours!
✨Paint Giveaway Magic
In September, we gave away 878.5l of paint in just 3days! Your enthusiasm and kind feedback made it an unforgettable event.
✨Amazing Volunteers
Around 50 volunteers joined us—some for a session, others for the long haul. Everything you see in our shop is made by these incredible people. We’re so lucky to have such a passionate community!
✨Empowering Through Carpentry
Our Green Champions Foundation Programme empowered so many, from fixing things at home to taking charge of DIY projects. We’re especially proud of all the women who picked up tools and felt more confident and independent.
✨ Sustainable Living Made Easier
Together with Waltham Forest Council, we created a Directory to help you repair, reuse, and shop second-hand locally. Check it out on their website (link in bio).

From Give & Takes to the Reuse and Repair Fair, you helped us save over 3❗tons of items from landfill this year! Every piece found a new home, reducing waste and supporting sustainability.

For a while now, we've been sharing the amazing creations our community makes using materials from FRP, including wood, textiles, and paint. Your ideas are always so inspiring and creative—thank you for sharing them with us!
👉This week, we’re spotlighting some beautiful rustic shelves crafted by our talented colleague Gosia. She used FRP’s sustainable scaffolding boards, cut to size, sanded, and oiled to perfection. To complete the look, she paired them with shelf brackets from Ironmongery Direct. Many of our customers also find unique brackets—like cast iron ones—on Etsy. Whether you prefer simple, curved, ornamental, antique, or industrial steel pipe designs, there’s a style to match your home decor and give it that special touch.

🎄✨ The season has officially begun – we’ve all heard Mariah Carey singing “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” 😉 so it’s time to dive into those Christmas stories!
For many of us, this is such a magical time of year, and our little ones are counting down the days. To kick things off, we’re thrilled to share a beautiful creation by the talented Anita!
You might remember Anita @naughty_but_neat from our shop at 2C Bakers Avenu. Not only does she have incredible textile knowledge (she’s the reason we have such amazing fabric options), but she’s also an amazing maker! The previous season, she crafted these gorgeous Christmas🎄stockings for her niece, and they’re absolutely adorable.
Here’s what Anita shared about her process:
✨ “I made the decorations using two pieces of upholstery velvet stitched together with a blanket stitch. I used Bondaweb to bond two fabric layers before tracing and cutting the shapes. The lettering was done with a single piece of fabric backed with Bondaweb, then ironed onto the off-white velvet cuff of the stocking.”
Adding initials and little appliqués is such a lovely way to make each stocking unique and special.

🛠️ 23 Nov – Give & Take with Hackney
When? Saturday, 23 November 2024 | 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Where? Gainsborough Primary School, Berkshire Road, E9 5ND
We’re teaming up with Hackney Council again for our popular Give & Take event, now as part of their #ZeroWasteHackney campaign. This time, we’re excited to host it at Gainsborough Primary School.
How does it work?
It’s super simple: bring along any pre-loved clothes, books, toys, games, crockery, or bric-a-brac—and feel free to take home anything you need, for FREE! No need to donate to take something home, and you don’t have to swap donations to participate. It’s all about sharing and reducing waste.
Perfect opportunity to clear out your kids' toy box, or maybe find a few new toys to bring home! 🎁
Bonus! We’ll also have Hackney Fixers, Dr. Bike, and volunteers from TRAID on hand for small electrical repairs, bike fixes. Want to get something fixed? Be sure to pre-book your free repair slot with Hackney Fixers via our website.

🌟 Meet Farid and His Amazing Custom Bookshelf! 🌟
This is #frpcraftyfriday
Farid joined us a few months ago through our ♻️Green Champions Foundation Programme in Carpentry, and he’s been doing incredible work! 🙌
This sweet little bookshelf is his creation. Farid started by learning the basics of sewing, drilling, and cutting wood. After exploring some design ideas, he collaborated with our carpentry mentor, Greg, to come up with this custom-made piece. He measured the space, considered the functionality, and designed a shelf that fits perfectly!
Using scaffolding boards and bright, cheerful paint provided by us, Farid built this stunning shelf that adds so much character to the room.
And the best part? The shelf is part of a clever foldable table! Efficiency and creativity combined! 🎨✨

Today, we're sharing a story that's sure to warm your heart: a beautiful peg bag crafted by one of our incredible volunteers, Liz. 💚
Liz has been volunteering with us for a while now, and every Thursday, we’re lucky to welcome a group of talented, creative ladies who pour their skill and love into the unique items you’ll find in our shop each Friday and Saturday.
This peg bag has a very special story. Liz discovered some old aprons while sorting through her mom’s house—aprons once worn by her mother, and maybe even her grandmother. If you remember your mom or grandma wearing aprons, maybe you can picture it too: the scent of home, their favorite tunes humming in the background, and all the warmth those memories bring.
With a little imagination, Liz transformed the apron fabric with lovely rose-patterned scraps from FRP into a one-of-a-kind peg bag, breathing new life into something cherished. 🌹 It’s a beautiful way to keep those memories close, and an inspiring example of repurposing fabric.
